Dickens came to live with me on his 5th birthday. He was raised by his breeder, Sherri Wilmoth of Sarron Belgian Sheepdogs, and he had earned his conformation championship; however, he really doesn’t enjoy the show ring, so Sherri retired him. And I was the lucky one that she decided to place him with!
Dickens enjoys doing obedience and loves going to “doggy class” to help me demonstrate obedience to my students. He has completed his AKC Companion Dog obedience title, and is now retired from competition.
More important than any championship or obedience titles, Dickens is a wonderful companion! He loves people—especially children!—and has visited Epworth Preschool/Daycare on various occasions to help the children learn how to be safe around dogs. It’s heartwarming to see this big black wolf-looking dog roll over on his back and “teach” the kids to give him a tummy rub. :-)
Sherri did a fantastic job breeding and raising Dickens. Having known Sherri for a while now, I can say with confidence that she is a careful, conscientious, and dedicated breeder, and I’m proud to call her friend.
October 15, 2010 - Dickens went to the "Rainbow Bridge" after a brief illness. My life will never be the same :-(
