Justice litter details
Justice’s pedigree
Orange Girl was my “keeper” from the litter. I really had a difficult time choosing which puppy to keep from this litter. Each had the promise of something to offer in any venue—conformation, obedience, and performance, and loving companion. And they all, of course, had me wrapped around their little paws. When the puppies were 5 weeks old, I told co-breeder Kelley that I didn't know which girl I was keeping, but I knew that I wasn't going to keep Orange because she was such a BRAT! Famous last words...
Even though she is still a brat, Justice is a delightful girl! She lives life with gusto and thoroughly enjoys a good romp with her Belgian friends. But her favorite activity is giving hugs to her mom :-) Plans for Justice include conformation, obedience, rally, agility, herding, tracking, and having as much fun as possible.
Justice is the dam of the Adventure litter (2008) and the Novel litter (2011).
Winter 2014: Justice has been taking agility classes, and she LOVES it! We are preparing to enter our very first agility trial -- Stay tuned....
January 2013 News: Justice completed her Rally Excellent title. It was kind of a bittersweet day, as it was her last time competing in Obedience/Rally. But it was also her young son Aslan's first Rally competition, and he earned his first title leg. Justice will now go on to train in agility and tracking.
Summer 2012 News: Justice earned the first two legs of her Rally Excellent title on July 13--her sixth birthday!! She also earned her first Championship point in conformation on June 17.
Winter 2011 News: Justice finished her Rally Advanced (RA) title in 3 trials on February 26 and March 11 (2 trials in one day).
Fall 2010 News: Justice was entered in conformation on August 1, so I postponed any "serious" obedience training until after that show, though we did dabble a little before then. In my limited conformation showing, I've had more than my share of bad experiences, and even if I hadn't already decided to switch to obedience in August, that show would have clinched it for me :-( So---August 2, we began training in earnest.
Over the course of August and September, we hit a few show-n-go's and matches, and I really didn't think that she was ready to trial, but when I found out that there was a trial less than 15 minutes from my house, I couldn't resist and I entered her! I figured that it would be great ring experience for us both without the added cost of traveling a long distance. Much to my surprise, she qualified for her first leg in her first trial on September 26!! Her second trial was October 9, and she qualified for leg #2!! And in her third trial on November 14, she finished her CD!! Her newness showed in her heeling scores <lol>, but I was thrilled that she was able to finish her title so quickly and in only 3 trials. I couldn't be happier and more proud, but there's more....
Almost as an afterthought, I entered us in Rally Novice at the October trial. It was not only her first Rally trial--it was mine, too! Despite the fact that both of our "nemesis" signs were on the course <lol>, she earned a 96, which was good enough for a 4th place. The November trial was a disaster, and we didn't qualify that day. (Obedience & Rally were in different buildings. I tried 3 times to check in for Rally and pick up a course map and was told they weren't ready yet. By the time I came back and checked again, we were NEXT in the ring. Because we were the last entry, I couldn't ask to be moved, and I literally had my hand on the map to pick it up when they called our number. So I was nervous that I didn't know the course, worried I would miss a sign, and I missed a sign. ;-) Onward to our next opportunities--December 4th and 5th. That Saturday, she earned a 99 and won the 2nd place tie on time. Sunday was a 98 and 3rd place with the slower time. Justice is my first breeder-owner-handled multi-titled dog, and we've only just begun.....

Note: The Justice litter pups were named with a "justice" theme (e.g., names of detectives [real or fictional]; movie, book, or t.v. show titles, or other phrases that fit the theme). Justice is named after former judge and award-winning journalist Catherine Crier (http://www.criercommunications.com/page/bio08.html).
